Couples Therapy

I took Bobby Three Sticks and Surekha out on the lake here a while back. They received a 'free trip' for something. I can't remember why I gave them the honor, but I'm sure they deserved it. We had a pretty day with very nice weather, but we didn't catch too many fish. Right off the bat we had a good hook up which you can see here, and we also hooked up on a nice Snapping Turtle but got off before we could get a picture. I haven't hooked a Snapper for quite a few years so it surprised even myself.

Let me know if anyone wants to go fishing!

Trip #2 (maybe)

I don't know when this trip was. I didn't have my camera with me this day so I had to get Belinda to send me a picture from her phone. Oh, this is Belinda. She's been fishing with me several times. We've caught some pretty big fish together and always manage to have a good time.

Double Time!

This is Dennis Double. Now you know why I titled the post like I did. Dennis likes to fish. And he also likes to have a good time. Lets see, what can we do that involves fishing and having a good time? AHA! Jug fishing! So we loaded up the boat and the jugs and hit the lake. We had another good day and caught several fish. This guy that is in the picture was the big fish of the day.

Starting to Get Hot

This trip was one of the first that I kept wanting to jump into the lake because it was so hot. I had a good friend of mine named Hilaire with me. This was kind of a boat ride/catfishing trip. Or what I call "Recreational Recreation". See, that's the beauty of jug fishing. You can be fishing and having a blast on the lake at the exact same time. So perfect. This was another trip where the catch wasn't as hot as the weather but we had a wonderful time nonetheless.

A Long Time Coming

So I've known Sarah for maybe 3 years. And for probably 2 of those years I have been telling her that she should come out on the lake and go fishing with me. I heard all kinds of excuses until finally one day she was able to come. We caught several fish, but more importantly, we had a great time.

More Family...

This time it was my little cousin Milly. We had a good day. I think we caught several nice fish. The one in the photo was the biggest, but not by much. Probably caught 18 fish if memory serves me. I think we caught this fish about in the same place that Matt and I scored that other big one. When we came up to the jug there was a barge coming up the river so we had to wait a minute. At one point I was worried that the barge was going to run over the jug. And by the way the jug was behaving I could tell that it was a big one. And boy was I right!

Family Affair

My little sister Sara Buff and her husband Andrew were coaxed to the lake one day. My dad was also in attendance. Oh, and Jack the dog. This trip was the same M.O. as the last one, with me getting there first and getting started, and the others to follow. Luckily there was another boat involved so I didn't have to leave the sacred fishing grounds and cruise back to the dock for a pick up. Shortly after they arrived I caught this nice blue in some shallow water. Sometimes it takes two to hold up the fish for the photo.

Catfishing in Crappie Season

So there's this guy named Matt that I know that likes to go crappie fishing. He really likes to go crappie fishing. So we schemed up this trip back in February where I would go get us started and then he would come later, would get in the boat and we would both catch our limits. At least that's what we always think when we go crappie fishing.

Anyway, I decided to throw some jugs in the main channel and see what happened. We caught a few, but the last jug had this big guy on it. He probably weighed in around 22 pounds. I don't take a scale with me for two reasons: 1) It something else to keep up with in the boat 2) I like to guess, that way you can't lie about how big the fish was since you don't technially know the truth. Follow?

Blue Cat Guides

I'll get started with some stock photos of fish I've caught over the last couple of years. I was never good about taking a camera with me since I would be alone quite a bit, and it's pretty tough to take a picture of a big blue cat by yourself. Trust me.

I've got some other trips from this year that I am going to post, then we'll be current.

Enjoy!
